The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe , written by CS Lewis, was a book that I loved as a child. I had always had a sneaking suspicion that magic was real, but could not get a straight answer out of any of the adults I asked about it. They kept saying things like, ‘ What a fantastic imagination you have!’ Or, ‘ You know that’s not real, don’t you?’. But here’s the thing; it was real to me.
I joined in with every step of the adventures of the four Pevensey children. and shared every victory and defeat. I hated the White Witch with a vengeance, and knew exactly what I would do with her if I caught her…. I am sure you will not be surprised to discover that I still read this book, and still get enormous pleasure from existing in Narnia for a short while. And now my children sometimes say to me, ‘But it’s just made up isn’t it? It never really happened!’
I can tell you this without a shadow of doubt; no person has yet managed to prove to me that magic is not real.
Probably because it is. What do you think?
